IST defines the fees for each educational programme every year. The fee for the Civil Engineering PhD programme is presently €2,750 per year. The cost of the fees may be totally or partly covered by research scholarships. These scholarships may be directly awarded to the postgraduate student by public or private bodies, or financed through PhD courses or research projects adequate for his/her curricular plan (see Regulamento de Propinas de Doutoramento do IST).
